Just picked up a 79 360 From a buddy of mine.. What should i do first?? any opinions?? trying to make it aa sleeperr???? original 4bbl. I will put more pics up tomorrow

First? Strip it down and assess the condition. Then, figure out how much you want to spend and how much power you want to make. Also, what is it going in? Weight of car? Auto? Rearend and gear ratio?? Tire size? Blah, blah, blah.......

If going into an early-a headers will set you back a few $$$....but headers is a good spot, aluminum intake and Holley 600-650 carb, ignition upgrade, cam swap but people need to know more about what you want to do with this car to give you more accurate help :glasses7:

Rear gear swap will need to be done as well as transmission upgrades

Its going into my 65 cuda. I got a set of long tube headers for free with it as well and I already got the 3.23 rearend in a 742 case to go along with it. Im getting a 727 torqueflight For 100 so I'm all ready to build it. I was debating on putting a 340 Intake rather than a edlebrook I just want to make into a torque engine. I got the case number from the block but don't know what truck it came out to?? I haven't had time to asses it yet but will When I'm free. I can see a leak but I'm not sure what do you think?
