Just joined this site, heard about it from moparforums.com. I come from a family obsessed with Chevy, so I have no mopar of my own. I am only 17, and my dad says as long as I live under his roof I can't get a mopar. My dream car would be a 1971 Demon 340, any color, and trans and rear, I just want a Demon! I don't know how much I will post, considering my lack of a mopar, but we'll see. If anyone else on here is from SE WI and has a Demon, I would love to see it. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the kewlest car site on the planet.nuthin wrong with a chevy but ain't nuthin wrong with a demon either,especially a 340 demon!!! good luck with pop's!
 
welcome to the site waggin is correct, nothing wrong with some of the old chevy muscle, but demon's are hot and the 340's well they just plain rock. Good luck in your search. It may be cheaper for you to find a Demon without the motor and work at that first while keeping your eyes peeled for a good deal on a buildable 340. Keep us posted and good luck!
 
welcome...i too am 17 and am blessed to be in a mopar only family...with my dad being an chrysler technician all his life. to contradict waggin...theres one thing wrong with a chevy...its not a mopar.

I'm one of those deranged [expletive deleted]ers that exploits flaws in reasoning - often in a manner similar to the dreaded Djinn granting a poorly-crafted wish. In this case, I'd seek out a 1978 Camaro with no engine or transmission (super cheap) and transplant the entire powertrain from a junkyard Cordoba or something. That's how I roll. ;-)

That ain't a bad idea. I have a 1968 cutlass conv. with a 330 and a powerglide all #s matching. If I wasn't a #s matching freak I might try that idea.

My father is die-hard Mopar but he persuaded me to get a Cheby for my first car...'75 Chevy 4-Door Malibu...huge car, I guess he didn't want to feel guilty if smacked it up, lol. Keep workin' on your dad, I think I was 17 when I got my Dart!
 
Welcome youngster,and go get the Mopar of your dreams. Then spank every member of your family,especially your Dad,lol!!!

Seriously,vehicle preference is personal so I dont get that. I wont care if my Daughter or Son want a friggin Issetta. Thats thier choice.

Myself,I have owned all the big three. I currently own 3 Mopars and a GM truck.

I have personally had over 90 cars of all makes and models, but in the end Mopars are just the best!!! Dad'll find out too, when he sees the Demon!!! Geof
 
I can relate..........Back in the day I had a 70 RR 383 auto and my neighbor bought a 68 Z-28 302 4sp. THAT CAR SCREAMED.

Do it. My dad was not happy when I purchased a 1970 Plymouth Duster in 1976. I was 17 years old. It cost 1500.00 dollars. More than a half year's wages at that time for me. Now it will cost much more to duplicate that car. Get a good one. I do not think that you will regret your choice.

anyhoo.......Welcome to FABO Red Devil:cheers:. My first real car was a '74 Duster E58 (360) when I was 16. I had a couple more Dusters and a Road Runner, and then went to work at a GM Dealership#-o
I drive GM's daily because I've been programmed too, but my true love has been and always will be A body Mopars.
Your Dad might come around if he checks out what a great website you've found.

As another young gun on the forums (17 also), welcome man. There is a lot to learn here. I have over 1000 posts on here and still don't have my car. Have a 1984 dodge rampage (L-body) and the A-body won't come until next summer/fall when I am out of highschool and working full-time. What I am trying to say is don't be afraid to post because you don't have your car yet. Ask questions, listen to the members here and read everything carefully, and take notes. You'll learn a lot. I know a lot for my age but I still have questions, a lot of them, and the people here will be happy to help.
