don't be fooled....he is eyeballing every move made in the shop....sometimes thru his eyelids, it's a cat thing.
 
now time to bring this thing out of mothballs since the Flash is 99% done.

First up....chassis
 
I completely forgot about this car so I went though the entire thread again. I like it!
 
This past Saturday we scored a bunch of close-out 1/2 price sheetmetal.....fenders, firewall, quarter skins from AMD. I can't buy a good used fender , strip it, e-coat it for what they are selling them for @ $250 a pop.

Was AMD having a sale or are they going out of business?
 
from what I read they are getting rid of the Mopar slow turnover items. Impossible to make a profit if it doesn't sale. Also consolidating parts / pieces. No longer carry the quarter panel skin, but the whole quarter panel.

I have a brand new set of Dustpan quarters in the inventory.
 
I have been looking forward to see this project continue.
And, just this past Friday, I received my pallet of parts from AMD. Everything looks really nice.

More than likely will have to build headers for this one. Everything I look at appears to hang too low. I'm looking for something that does not hang more than 5" below the pan rail. I built these for a customer doing a Stage 1 (392) Hemi with a HDK. By building, I mean I design, cut and tac U bends to make each tube, have them tigg welded, and then tac all four tubes on the header flange to have the collector / flange added.

Not hard, just takes patience and a chop saw blade.

6.4 with the Whipple mock up......barely fits, just the way I like it.

Got the firewall moved back 3-1/2". The tuff part was keeping the OEM wipers and fresh air vents 100% functional. next up ....raise the AMD / OEM floor up 1-1/2"

Butch is old friends with Art (Whipple)....lets just say he is a sponsor.

The one pictured is only the housing for mock up. Wait till ya see the real deal in California Flash Red. Looks like the DSR 1150 crate piece. Butch is talking to DSR is for technical support also. He is friends with all the hitters.

I just hope I'm up to their level of game.
