Anybody coming to this? We're going to try to make it. Going to Holiday Beach Raceway tonight to work on a 6.0 tune. Going to try to slow it down with short shifting both shifts.

The index races down hear don't allow electric or pneumatic throttle stops and no down track stutter. You basically have to tune the car to run the number. They don't want people with a 4.50 capable car slowing it down to 6.0 and running 165mph.I bought a Biondo electric throttle stop with the hopes of trying some 10.90 racing years ago. I got tech’ed in at a divisional IHRA race at keystone and paid to test n tune. I ripped the center out of my flywheel on my first test hit. Never ran it again as IHRA dropped all classes and went to 100% bracket.
That is true. But it also effects reaction time. I struggle with that a little bit on the pro tree. Without deep staging I can do no better than .025 . And there's tons of guys down here that have to put some delay in the box. Even on the .400 pro tree. So I'm already at a disadvantage.Weight box might be a good choice too
I may try something like that. In our class it can't be adjusted while going down the track. Thanks for the ideaI have been running pro tree / 11.50 index for over 12 years now. I struggled going shallow on a .500 pro tree , I got some advice from two very well known successful bracket racers they said " Go Deep and stay Deep " I have and have been pretty successful. My car runs 10.80s I slow it down to run 11.50s via a modified Moroso throttle stop that bolts on the back carb stud and limits how far the linkage / throttle opens by turning a bolt in or out. I have tried the E.Z. plate system as well a the Willys adjustable plate and found they kill to much mph on my application. So I went back to my bolt system.. car runs 11.50 at 115 mph with a 1.59 - 1.62 60 ft ( deep ) leaving at 2,000 rpm , shallow would be 1.49-1.52. I foot brake and my r.t.s and 60 fts are just as good as my fellow competitors with two steps and trans brakes. I run a 904 and shift manually but am considering an air shifter for next season.

This is from the Moroso catalog it also says not in stock .. mine is modified with a longer bolt and I drilled another hole in my cable bracket to hold the stop assy. ( I have a Jegs linkage / return spring bracket ) as I found out that only bolting it to the carb stud it would tend to pivot on the stud with another hole / mounting point it can't move. I just keep a 7/16 wrench with me so I can set the stop quickly. Turns out for slower .. in for fasterI may try something like that. In our class it can't be adjusted while going down the track. Yes. I ended up taking timing out of the engine for 2.5 seconds using my K&R delay boxcan you run a delay box in that class
