No Decent A Bodies

Wonder how many 71 or earlier restorable 340 cars are left?
They are out there, a friend of mine has his dads 68 340 S car, it still has most of its original paint, with a few primer spots. I bet I could buy it for 6K.
Its a complete car, just sitting out in the weather now.

Don’t get all defensive towards me. I was just stating what you wanted in a car from what you said in your other threads. You can get what you want with your budget, you just have to be patient and persistent.

It’s obvious everyone here wants to help, but you keep posting threads complaining that you haven’t found your car yet. That gets old.
You blame me for complaining, I've been looking for 3 years and dealing with people that say that they have a nice car and it's a piece of junk

I very well may have to expand my choice of a car as well. It doesn't have to be a mopar. I only asked if anyone knew of a car for sale close to st.louis, I've explained several times why I can't travel all over looking at cars. I have enough sense to know that I'll still have to work on it and it's possible that the car I get just might need a little TLC which is fine with me. I don't want to be disrespectful, but I can tell that most of the guys on here have big money and cost is no object for them, I don't have that luxury.

This one checks all your boxes and it's perfect in every way. Needs nothing. Send me a check for $45,000 and once it clears I'll ship you the car.

Yeah. I'm filthy rich. I can't even consider the price range you're looking at.
I can't speak for others, though.

I know where there is a 1967 mustang with all I want plus a new paint job for 25k and it's not far from where I live. I'm not going to pay over inflated prices for a car that the market doesn't support.

I'm happy for you. But guys that have 5 and 6 cars and awesome shops etc are not broke
5 hobby cars, 4 currently on the road. Built my own shop. House paid off, 2 kids through college, retired early. Never made even close to 6 figures, combined. If you want it bad enough, you find ways to do it, not ways to make excuses.

You think that only happens to YOU? It happens to everyone. We aren’t going to the car lot to find this stuff. This stuff is 50-60 years old and when purchased they were used for daily transportation, pulling trailers and boats and doing everything. Most of them weren’t purchased to sit in the garage so that 50 years later they could seek it as new.

You have options. Either lower your expectations, spend more money, be willing to do more work or some of all of those.

Or find a new hobby. You always say WHY you can’t find something. That’s an excuse. If you want it bad enough you’ll figure out what to do.

Nice car, but more than I can afford. No offense to you but I wouldn't pay full price up front to begin with with out notarized paperwork

Notarized paperwork? You’ve got to be kidding. We’re I the seller I’d tell you to get on a fast horse and shag your but over to look at it. You are the BUYER. You are RESPONSIBLE for deciding it’s the car for you.

I’m not trying to be an ***, but you sound like the guy who needs a Prius and then go golfing. This isn’t for you.

One more post and then I’m done.

You are an absolute FOOL and a joke if you think 25K for a running, driving Mustang is over inflated. You don’t have a clue what you are talking about. I tell anyone looking for anything to START at 25k and plan to work on it.

I mean that the mustang is a good deal at 25k

I'll find a car on my own. I've asked if anyone knew of a car that's for sale close to the st.louis area, I've explained why I can't travel far. And then everyone says that I'm not looking hard enough or I don't want to go the distance to look. I'm not going to pay more than I can afford just to have a car and I'll stay with in the area that I can travel which is a couple hundred miles from where I live.

I'm probably going to have to hire a company to go inspect a car for me. I can't always plan on being somewhere as I don't know how I'll feel from day to day. Being born with a curved spine and then having arthritis plus other back problems makes life not so easy.

I was going to ask about window felt for a 1972 dart swinger but decided not to cause I don't want to get my head bit off.

I’m quite sure he was joking. In fact, the laughing face makes me 100% sure. But you be the judge.

Let's let this thread fizzle out. We have all voiced our opinions and Dan has seen our findings.

I apologize, sometimes I can be a loudmouth.
Window felts/fuzzies have been in short supply for a while.
I bought a set for the 67 a few months back as soon as I heard they were back in stock.
I think the company is "TopCat" or something like that.

Mecum has auction in Kansas City. Look at lot list and pick car. If it sells early in week, cars can be bought reasonable.

I see LOTS of ebay listings located in MO.
