Intake valve rocker on cylinder #5 not getting oil. I did a pre lube of oil pump. Great oil pressure. one rocker not oiling when all others on same side are. I turn crank about 1/4 turn at a time. Any suggestions?

Is this a fresh build start up ?
What type of rockers ? Factory stamped or aluminum roller ?

Stock stamped. Just put motor together.

Take one of the end bolts out of the rocker shaft on that side. Pour oil in that hole, then rubber tipped air blower put some air pressure to that hole.

See if that drives some fresh oil out at the dry rocker.

Reassemble and give it a go again.

Nick's Garage was just dealing with this on a fresh 540 cu.in. build. He back tracked it to make sure oil was finally coming up from the source and through the cam bearings.

He made sure all the valve train parts had oil on them, as he dripped oil on them by hand. (not dry)

Then he kept the drill prime tool going and turned the engine over, then the oil finally came up. It took a little time to get up there.

Then they fired it up, roller cam... it took some more time for the new lifters to fully pump up and quiet down.

All good now. Careful as you go.

(oil holes in rocker shafts pointing down, towards the exhaust manifolds.)

Sounds like the oil hole in the bottom of the shaft, for that particular rocker may be stopped up with gunk. You can knock the plugs out of the ends of the shafts and run a long handle brush thru them with solvent running in at the same time. They will clean up like new doing that. Knock new plugs in the ends and you should be good to go. Take the old plugs to the parts house and get some new ones.
