Hi FABO, I'm swapping out the 318 currently in my Dart for my original numbers 340 (Just rebuilt) and thought I would share some creative work I found.. This Frame mod was done by a previous owner to make room for the power steering pump lines.
What do you think?

Yes, <<-shakes head->>
I just don't understand how that is easier, or can ever be considered an option.
I suppose I can just weld a plate in to sure it up, but I'm not set up for it nor do I have any welding experience. But it's getting fixed as soon as possible.

I notched mine to fit a saginaw power steering pump and lines, but I welded some plates back in to support what I cut out.

Not sure why that was even necessary, since that Federal pump has the correct brackets for the aluminum water pump. Perhaps the motor mounts were too thin or they simply needed a longer belt. Would have been smarter to bend the tubing. Anyway, I doubt it compromises the structure since I recall the corner they trimmed is just folded-over metal (no weld). If you weld a piece, it will be stronger than factory.
