Noise from 904 trans, after rebuild, on startup

I had just got the trans rebuilt in my demon. I got it all installed, and today went to start it up. As I was cranking i could hear a different noise. Once it fired the noise didn't go away. It sounds like a starter still engeged but it is not that. Any idea what may be the problem? Did I do something wrong? Am I supposed to do any thing to the trans before i installed it? Prime anything?

Was the torque converter changed ?If so did you fill it before attaching it to the trans ? I'd check the inspection cover first . Go back and check all the bolts on the flexplate too.

Could be the converter isn't all the way on the trans spline. Did you spin the converter on the trans spline when you installed it? Did you feel it drop in?

You didn't happen to change to the lower gear set from the A-999 trans did you? If so, you need to change the input shaft also, or they won't spline together. Don't ask me how I know!!! Geof
