So.....out of the blue transmission is making a metallic ticking sound while in forward and reverse gears. Car doesn’t have to be moving to make the noise. No noise in park or neutral. Looking for ideas before I blindly go tearing into it. Thanks

Easiest place to start are the torque converter to flex plate bolts. If loose or wrong type bolt they will hit things. Also make sure the tans inspection cover isn’t loose or hitting bolts also.
