NOS lifters

i have nos lifters new in box from the 80s, before i started install today i pushed down on plunger, they wont move, is this normal? i wasnt going to prepump them with oil, just seeing if there was any movement

Are they solid lifters?

no, hyd, came in 292/508 kit

i believe i was overthinking it, i installed 2 lifters and tightened down rocker shaft and of course the plungers went down

The cosmoline or golden colored mopar lube binds them after years sitting...they should be fine once oil wet and up to temperature.

Yes, they had that yellowish cosmoline like stuff going on there.all in and tightened down now.thanks guys
