Not mine but strong sb

These things just point out to myself how old I've gotten. Years ago this stuff was great, now I'm watching it nervous he's going to hit someone thinking to myself `crazy idiot'. Sigh...:(

Sounds nice and healthy but I never understood the use of gauges and instruments on the exterior.

I could guess it may be that he doesn't want to cut up his dash.

Or

You don't have to look away fro the road, you can catch the gauges with your peripheral vision when they are out there.

Or

They are mountain-man gauges, and prefer the fresh air.

Overbuilt is the way that goes. I have noticed many here that have to have the ultimate hot rod engine and it is fun to drive but uncontrollable.
That's where I'm at. I NEED to work on different tires and maybe moving my superstock springs under the frame. I will probably need rims with a different offset as well $$$$$$. Probably won't happen until next year sometime. In the meantime if I just lightly stab the throttle at 35 mph it breaks the tires loose. You're right fun (and scary) to drive but I'm not gonna win any races like this.

That's one fun drive, the car does move, if they are on here like to know the specs.
From the youtube video:
This is a write up I did for someone last year all remains the same
And someone also asked what does it cost to build this engine I have over $30,000 in parts and machine work

I'd sure like to know WHY IN HELL you cannot multi quote on this site.
Click the quote button on everyone you want to address or comment on, then press reply to who you want to include last, when the reply screen comes up there is a button that says “insert these quotes” click it, click OK, presto, they all come up in the reply window.
I think he even hit 133mph briefly... not too shabby on a two lane.
138 was top mph I seen.

I didn’t look at the gauges, not that I could see what they said on my phone.....

But! A fuel pressure gauge is often mounted on the outside. I also seen guys wire up multiple gauges outside because the don’t want to cut up there interior dashboard.

It looked like neither gauge was even operable. Maybe a vac/boost gauge, but no blower...

I can see reason to not cut up the dash, and I didn’t even have enough room to mount all the gauges I wanted. I went online and picked up a pillar gauge pod for 2 gauges. It fits ok, could be better. I think it was for a Honda Civic. Now I have AFR and MAP right in my face. No sense in cutting up the dash that you like or the cowl vent on the outside. I’ve never heard of anyone in love with their pillar. My fuel pressure gauge lives under the hood.

There’s recently a guy in the forced induction section, with a Jeep I think, Turbo sbm, he used a raspberri pi, which is a compact computer OS, and ran all his specialty EFI gauges to a lcd display - looked really slick!

I put my fuel pressure gauge in the car. It's a royal PITA. You have to have an isolater that has to be mounted and you have to fill the cabin side hose from the isolater to the gauge with antifreeze. Yup. PITA.

So yes it is fuel pressure and nitrous pressure the fuel pressure is operable and was sitting steady at 6 PSI the nitrous well I don’t even use it kind of crazy to on the street and haven’t had the opportunity yet to run it at the track car runs high nines engine only and still having traction and clutch issues so not even sure what it will run yet but if I can put the power down and run the nitrous could run a 8.99

Granny shifting ? kick a$$ car !!

Awe inspiring, especially when you realize that this is a built 340, aka "the biggest POS engine ever!" :D

How critical is that three-link rear? Is the factory style leaf spring setup that big of an impediment to putting the traction down?

Yes a built 340...... with a 4" crank in it.

Good God, man.

Well ya...I thought that was the object...nothin better than smokin the tires at 60...I can only do it at 30.

I would not say it is critical someone else on here has mentioned why over build your car but I have learned the hard way many times over, under building things just causes destruction I’ve been building this car since I was 16 and I am now 55 and I haven’t had to spend a dime on repairing broken **** in five years all I’ve done is oil changes oh yeah and of course have to keep replacing the tires

I don't like broke **** so I too use good parts, spend once, cry once.

Stout small block. What has it ran in the 1/8? 2900#?

My best 1/8 mile keeping in mind this is at a little airport with little traction other than launch
60’foot 1.39
1/8 ml 6.34
at 109.8 mph
