No blastin here. He's always been one of my favorites.

There was a whole thread on it in the General Discussion yesterday. He came from behind to win thats a good driver.

loved his come back,,,hope fully next year either alan johnson will get his act together or maybe v gaines will get it done in prostock,,

john force is the man,,

It's been awhile since I've seen John Force in public, but the thing that impressed me was that he always seemed eager to please the fans, you know, the ones paying his bills. That went a long ways with me, unlike some other folks who were too busy losing to answer a couple of questions in the pits.

I recorded the race and went way out of my way not to find out the results till last night.I live in St Louis and in 2005 after the race me and my son ended up in Forces trailer talking to John/Austin and Bernie AFTER HAVING A FEW BEERS John signed the rear wing on my Hemi ram and torched the rear tires on my truck but of course he is John Force so what did I care.IN MY OPINION HE MADE RACING WHAT IT IS TODAY

The dude ground his kneecap off on the wall only what, 2 seasons ago? He's a racing machine.

there was a show on speed channel last nite,,hot rod showed a charity car show at forces shop in calif,,,entrance fee to the show with a car was an unwrapped new toy,,to be handed out to needy kids by the calif highway patrol,,,

leno had a few cars on display,,and a complete row of new challengers,,the entire force family gave it there all to put on this show every year to help the needy kids,,,cause thats what car people do,,,,

hats off to the force family,,and many more championships to come

John is a #1 stand-up guy and quite a character.

And for those uninformed, he drives a funny car with a replica of a Ford body powered by a 500 ci aftermarket version of a 426 Hemi.
The only thing Ford on the car is the nameplate..sorta like a Nascar "stocker".

You need to fact check, do some research JOHN FORCES MOTOR is all ford......he developed it with his crew chief, and Eric Medlin

The Ford BOSS 500 Nitro Drag Racing Engine Racing enthusiasts know that the true heart of a race car is its engine – and Davis wants to make sure that the “heart” that powers NHRA Funny Car Mustangs of John Force Racing is pumping “blue” blood in the future.

Davis and John Medlen of John Force Racing challenged themselves to develop the new Ford BOSS 500, the first modern nitro engine for drag racing. The BOSS 500 was tested on-track for the first time on Oct. 18 and was unveiled for media today.

“We wanted to be in NHRA Funny Car with an engine that we really could call all our own, ” David said. “I wanted people to see a Ford Mustang race car and know that it’s winning races with true Ford power. ”

Davis and Medlen looked at the current nitro engine, discussed where they felt it had weaknesses, and decided to design and build a new engine to address them.

The BOSS 500 is the first nitro drag racing motor designed with analytical tools. It has a strengthened block for better durability and new cylinder heads developed by Ford and Force engineers. The basic design will favor areas such as the main caps register and the main webs in the block. Its engine block also is anodized blue after machining, helping ensure fans and competitors alike know when they’re seeing a Ford nitro engine under the hood.

Most of the external surface areas on the new 500-cubic-inch engine have been redesigned; a new belly pan was designed for better sealing; and the valve covers purposely call back the old Ford BOSS motors. The engine also features Ford main bearings with actual parts numbers in the Ford performance catalog.

“We had three things in mind when we set out on this project, ” Davis said. “First, for marketing purposes, we wanted to say that we were putting reality behind the term ‘Powered by Ford. ’

“Second, on the technical side, we have always helped out with aero, chassis development and now safety, but we always stopped short of the engine. This project has been a technical exercise for our engineers and the Force team to take the current motor, redesign it and make it a Ford.

“Finally, we want fans to associate this engine with Ford and Force, but we also know this provides a new revenue opportunity for us, ” Davis added. “In Funny Car, the plan is for this to be a John Force Racing-exclusive engine at the start, but we do want to be able to sell it to Top Fuel teams for competition in the near future. ”

Davis said that the current plan is for new Force Mustang driver Mike Neff to use the Ford BOSS 500 engine full-time in 2008 as it goes through its development phase. The other Force Mustang drivers – John Force, Ashley Force and Robert Hight – will use the engine after it has been further developed.

Ford and Force Racing also are investigating a team to be the first development operation in Top Fuel, with a measured, commercial rollout to more competitors after it has gone through a prove-out stage in that division.

I went Thursday to see the Stock and Super Stock classes. In Funny Car, Hagan set the low e.t. for the day (single pass on Thursdays). His car ran so effortless it was obvious he was the man to beat. He was one of about 5 drivers who were able to make a complete run down the track.

It was too bad that NHRA told him to take a dive in the first round to clear the path for John Force.

I have always cheered for Force even when he went to FoMoCo.

In all truth, it was Hagan's to lose and he did.

BTW, quite a few A-bodies in the Stock class. Fun to watch. Top qualifiers were a pair of 2010 Drag Pack Challengers (9.85 - 10.00 e.t.s)

The problem with his Furd engine...is if you go by the NHRA rule book for Funny Cars and Top Fuel...the engine specs are based on a Chrysler Hemi...so no mattter what you build it will still be based on a Chrysler Hemi...NHRA is trying to keep the cost down...the rules have been like that for years now.

Now look at the Furd Boss 500...funny how the distributor is in the same place...funny how the oil pump is in the same place...funny how they got the valve covers are covered so you dont see plug wires going into the valve covers....same valve covers...

funny how it takes the same rockers and shafts ....in fact if you do some research ..the only thing that was changed was the main bearing size...the block uses a small main bearing size...in fact as you read the article...the talk about the main bearing being changed...as we have know...CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN...

All the Fuel blocks builded by BAE or Rodeck have been upgraded thru the years to survive on nitro...

so if Furd wants to call it a Furd...ok...

Yes John Force has done a lot for the sport.but i'm so sick and tired of them interviewing him or his daughter every 2 minutes on ESPN during the race, its like they're the only ones at the track,i watch NHRA for the prostock and everytime the class is running they have to cut away to interveiw one of the Forces sadly NHRA has become the Force and family show, prostock is the only class worth watching..
