There is a half moon shaped slot (opening) in the heads over the center exhaust cross over. (This is the port that directs exhaust gas under the intake.)

This half moon slot (opening) looks to be a water jacket in the head. If it is, then the Edelbrock intake I have dosn't cover the slot and I will need to put a different intake on that will cover this slot (opening).

Hope this makes sense.

No that is not a water port, it goes nowhere. I'll work.

i ran into the same thing and ran fine with out it covered.

Anyone know if you can you fill it in?

Yeah I think I'm just paranoid about this engine.

I went out last night after the owls went to bed and checked a 318 with stock intake I have stored. The gap is there. Plugged with ****, but not covered by the intakes.

Thanks for the answers.
