just to help on some question

the star shape brackets are from 1965 to 1969

the D shape brackets are from 1970 to 1972

so if you are using a 71 disc brake set up on your 66 car, you will need the 65 to 69 brackets.

if you are using 66 disc brake set up on you 71 car, you will need the 70 to 72 brackets

Could you use a 71 hose on a 66 car and not swap the bracket if the setup you have is the d shape? Or will the frame bracket then be different also?

63 to 69 are star shape
70 to 72 are D shape

yes the frame bracket is different, it is star shape on the frame
