So, I'm about to put a new MC in my Dart and I take a gander up under the dash to take a look at how hard its gonna be to disconnect the pushrod, it doesnt look too bad. But I noticed that this rubber boot ting on the pushrod had become kinda melted/eaten apart. its pretty much on the firewall, but looks like it used to cover the end of the pushrod as some kind of boot to keep the pushrod from leaking gunk or dust getting in there. Heres a diagram as best as I can do using my key board |>-

anyone know what this thing is called?

If it has a cadium coated plate made to it , the only source I've found is Master brakes and they get 28. plus for it. There is a boot for the oval shaped hole in the firewall that doesn't have the plate. I think its the same as the clutch pedals rod boot.
Good luck

In a pinch you can try the Help! section at a parts store. Acquire a generic one and zip tie it to the cylinders collar before installing it. The last MC I bought came with one.

Hi Mike, What VS20 said. Check the box, mine came with it.
Good luck!
