anyone using one of those? Is it a good thing to have? thinking about my Initial start after rebuild to fill and pressurize the oil pump and later to add some extra safety.

is this electromagnetic valve really that expensive??? And worth it or is a cable operated valve good enough?
 
If you are going to drag race or track race with the car, then it may be a good idea., but a well designed oil pan is essential. If it is a street car - not needed.
However, you do need to prime the system before starting after a rebuild. The Hemi oil pump doesn't seem to prime very well.

How do you prime the oil pump?
 
I can see it perhaps being useful on a rally-cross or auto-cross car,that can do wicked Gs in the corners, but IMO for most of us, I agree with the previous poster.
I have a 7qt roadrace pan with the side wings, and is 1 inch deeper, and baffled. It's been on the car since 2004 and over 80,000 miles. With the mandatory oiling mods, my 367 has seen many,many, trips to 7000plus rpm with seeming impunity, plus 8 trips down the quarter and a couple of rally crosses, plus countless crazy stunts.
 
street car. Some track days, say max 100 runs a year. Since i totalled my last Motor ( not sure what it caused ) I Need safety every possible way :D
 
Do it. Never a dry bearing on startup. less air in the oil, never a momentary oil starvation on corners, and it helps cool the oil too.

I'm no authority on this, but it seems to me, if it's for a non 100 point car, and the car sits for extended periods between starts, I'd feel a whole lot better about those starts if you knew there was oil and oil pressure there where it's needed. So if you have a fresh engine, and want to keep it fresh, and you don't mind the looks of an accumulator on your inner fender, then yeah, go for it.
 
but it seems non of you guys having it installed. And I just wanted to ask if a Manual valve is good enough installed next to Driver seat or activated by a cable. The Solenoid is soooo expensive .... more than the System itself.
 
funny, my electric fuel pump is oil pressure activated. Activation by a certain oil pressure is not the Problem but it should shut off immediatly when oil pressure is below 5 psi. That won't happen now in case of an accident... one Comes to another hahahaha
