Hi all,
I have to replace the oil pan on my 440...can I replace the pan with "any" 440 pan using the appropriate p/u and dipstick, or because its in my 69 Dart, is there a "special" oil pan I have to use??

Most people using a stock pan will opt for the 187 or 699 pan since they both have a relief in them for the steering linkage. The 402 pan will also work. Several aftermarket pans are said to work now, check some of the other threads on here for the makers.

well I ran the part #'s thru my local dodge dealer and they are no longer available (well DUH!) so now I'm left wondering where I can locate a oil pan...anyone got any ideas for me???

Here`s one on Ebay now, looks like a 187 pan. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/mopa...QQptZLH_DefaultDomain_100?hash=item3a4d8bc97d

does anybody know of an aftermarket pan (6-7 quart) that will clear the steering linkage??

I cut/notched my K frame and used the 440 source pan for $ 79.00. It seems to be working well. The center link touches just a tad when making a hard right.
