I tried searching for this issue but didn't see it. On /6 '69 Bcuda. When key is switched on, Oil Pressure Gauge pegs on high and stays there until key is switched off(even without engine running). Can somebody give me a class in "OP Gauge and Sender for Dummies" so I can figure out which where the problem lies?

1....Disconnect the sender and see what happens

2...Do the other gauges work normally?

3...Have you recently replaced the sender and are you sure you have a gauge sender AND NOT a warning light sender?

Thanks for the quick reply..
All other Gauges work fine.
Haven't replaced anything (got car in Sept. ain't done much to it)
Sender is the 'bell' shaped job.
With sender disco'd, gauge stays on L

So the gauge pegs with key on, but engine not running? Bad sender, I'd say. You should have the large metal can like this........

i'll grab a new sender tomorrow and see what happens. thanks for the help. is this a pretty standard sending unit?

It really was that simple. Changed out the sender, works perfectly. Nice to have all gauges working. Now to replace a few bulbs and she should be like new. I appreciate the help.
