oil pressure question

i have a 71 model 318 in my d100. its had low oil pressure for a while and today i was working on the carb and decided to check the intake bolts for tightness. every one of them was loose. after i tightened the the truck runs alot smoother and it went from almost 0 oil pressure at idle to just under 20. does this make any sense to anyone.:study:

No, except that you may have had a (vacuum) leak which somehow reduced idle speed, and now it's idling enough higher that it pumps a little better.
 
i keep the idle around 650 rpms. never been lower. def makes no sense to me. thought id throw it out there and see if anyone else has seen this.
