I took my engine out last fall to have the block milled to a smoother finish for a MLS gasket to fix an oil leak. So I'm putting it together and I can't get the oil pump to seat properly. It's hitting the ARP main bolt in two places. The head is hitting and the vertical part of the pump is hitting the main bolt's washer.
I ground it down to fit and now I'm a little worried that the pump might be able to spin since there's not much support left against the main cap. Am I just paranoid or is there a real reason to be worried?

I did something similar once as well. I don't recall if I ground that much, but I did grind down the head of an OEM bolt too. Don't remember if I modified the washer. I may have cut a "flat" into it. But the only "support" should be at the mating surface of the pump and main cap.
