Just be attentive when you reinstall the cover and check the alignment of the timing cover oil seal with the crank; make sure the seal is well centered around the crank so you don't have a seal leak.I think I have the same problem

NOT true. seen plenty without either, as a matter of fact, I have never seen a SB with this. I will admit it has just been a few, less then 12, but I never seen it.They all had either the hollow bolt, or that hole left open from the factory
