I have a 65 Barracuda that decided to blow arear tire. Now as we all know 14'' tires are getting hard to come by. So I want to go to a 15'' wheel. I really like the American Racing Ansen slots.. On one of the online tire wnd wheel companies they only go back to 68'. Then still its a Road Runner. Okay here is one of my many issues. Will the rims from that car fit mine? If not what year/car would help me cross reference? I also plan on running a 245/60/15 on the rear and a 225 on the front for a big n' little look. BFG Radial TA's to be exact. So come on fellow A-bodies help a man out.

your 65 b cuda came with small bolt pattern rims,,,4 inch x 5 lugs ,, have you ever changed the bolt pattern to the 4 1/2 inch pattern ?? if not your wheel choice is very limited,,and most after market wheel companies do not offer rims for this 4 inch pattern any longer,,,

No I am still running stock sbp. I was kinda hoping someone would see this and say ''hey I have a set of old school mags that might help.'' Yeah right I know in this economy that is just a dream. This sounds crazy but a friend rescued me when the tire blew out. He brought the spare from a Stratus and it fit to get me home. Also said that some Ford Rangers might have same pattern. Not sure if that is true but with the wild card he pulled to get me rolling again. I have to lean his way. Does any of this sound correct? What would you use to have the big n' little look along with some meat on a stock set-up?

yes i agree stratus rims fiting ?? i dont know what the bolt pattern for a stratus is,,,but i would think its the same as all the other new mopars which is a metric size,,but so close to the 4 1/2 bigger bolt pattern,,,

did you have a front or rear tire blow out?? do you know if your front and rear are the same bolt pattern ???

the stratus is a front wheel drive car,,,and after market rims are available for that car i would think,,,but the off set will be differnt because of the front wheel drive,,but maybe with some searching you could find a rim that would work,,,

you could post an add on all the mopar sites for small bolt pattern wheels,,, i dont know if cragar still has any old school chrome rims left they made a batch a few years ago,,,with the small bolt pattern,,you could e mail cragar and ask,,,cant hurt,,,

or search craigs list,,,stay away from used old cragars, unless you can see them in person,,old chrome cragars usually have peeling chrome issues,, some sort of aluminum slot rim would loook good if you keep them cleaned

To answer part of the question-- some of the newer metric cars' rims will fit the mopar 5x4 pattern-- they are good for rolling around the yard-- not safe to be driven on the streets--- the bolt pattern &/offset are just enough different to create big problems on the road.

If you have a local pep- boys they used to carry a nice selection of 14" tires.

Otherwise 15" sbp wheels will be special order & not cheap--- you will need to find out the offset -- for your car(very important) to run a large tire like you want.

Good luck, Lawrence

This was the doughnut spare from a99' stratus and it served its point. It got my family and me home safe. We drove prolly 45 miles on it. My car still has the same bolt pattern that came stock in 65'. From what I have learned it is the 5-4 sbp. I just needed a quick fix to get home without a tow truck bill. I am looking for slot style mags and finding them is challenging. They either are beat up/ rusted or they want a small fortune. Will the 68' roadrunner rims work?

Those are exactly what I am looking for. Sad part though,,it says pick up only. I however live in the center of Florida.

just keep looking,, they are out there,,,any auto swap meets in your area??? go to all of them,,,look on craigs list, e bay, either get your self or make a pattern that you can carry to the swap meet,,,take a rim off of your car,or use the spare if you have one,, cut the card board round,so it sits flat on the back of the rim,,,tape it down,,then from the front take a sharpie and drawl the lug holes on the card board thru the front of the wheel,,,then cut the holes out that you just drew,,,

that way if you go to look at rims,,there will be no mistaken that you are looking at the correct bolt pattern,,people will sell you what you need,,not what they have,, and dont go with to wide of a rear rim,6 inches will be perfect,,,7 may work depending on the off set,, or you will need air shocks or bigger leaf springs to clear that shallow rear wheel well,,

if your looking at old used rims,,aluminum as long as it is not chipped or borken,,can alwasy be polished back to a nice appearence,,

I have a 66 Cuda with a 8.75 / 355 SBP rear end from a Duster and I have Cragar SS's
15 x7 in the rear and 15 x 6 in the front....both have approx 4 in backspacing I tried to stuff 255/60/15 under her.... not happening...then I tried 245/60/15 and they squeaked in but if I put a cooler in the car they hit the inner well on both quarters....( I centered my rear end before I did all this...most are off about a .25 on one side or the other). The largest tire I could fit in there SAFELY ( not touching anywhere even under load) was a 235/60/15 in the rear and a 215/60/15 in the front...... Newstalgia wheels has SBP cragar SS's for around $160 per which aint bad.... and there is a tire dealer on gratiot stree in Eastpointe Michigan that has the SBP Halibrand look alikes for a lil cheaper....
