Okay, What about header gaskets.

-
I have not tried them, yet. I plan on picking up a set myself, I have heard nothing but good about them.

i never tried them. what i have tried are those percy's dead soft aluminum multi layer gaskets....those things work!

I am a silicone hater, but on a Mopar, Permatex Copper seals incredibly well. Not a lot, just a skim coat on the gasket. I have had bolts come loose and the gasket didn't leak. Same with a buddy of mine on his 69 Coronet R/T 440 Magnum. He had a header bolt fall out and they didn't leak.

Used Remflex myself, good stuff. The Percys kill anything else I have seen or used!

I had two different sets of gaskets fail at the head and at the collector. I went to Percy's with no problems for three years.

Good timing. I just came online to post my Remflex experience and saw this thread.

Not only are Remflex gaskets fantastic, the owner, Rem, is an A#1 stand up guy! I bought a set of small block gaskets about two years ago when I was planning my build, and didn't realize until about a month ago that the standard gaskets wouldn't fit my Edelbrock heads. I called just to see if they had gaskets that would fit that I could buy, and not only did he offer to custom make some, he offered to exchange them for the ones I bought two years ago!

He also sent them out without a credit card or other security deposit and told me to just send the others back in the same packaging when I got the new ones in. He just earned my business forever!:cheers::cheers:

I run the FelPro header gaskets. Work great.

Yup, me too, I also use some gold hi-temp permatex sealer. I have Hooker super comps, they have thick flanges so that helps a lot. I have even had both headers un-bolted from the motor and reused them and they still seal nice! On my other 340 car, I have regular Hookers and they leak, I have to run 2 Mr. Gasket seals on each side on with lots of sealer on that one, otherwise they don't seal up for $hit, even the same felpro one on my other engine burn right thu with the cheap headers. I have thought about the copper or aluminum ones before though....
