After a year of looking, I pulled the trigger on a new Hot Rod.
Bought a 1968 Barracuda Fastback.
One of my earliest memories is going to the Plymouth dealer with my parents in 67' and us kids sitting in the back seat, 4 across to see if we fit. Dad bought the Yellow Fastback, my parents first new car. Eventually my Dad would put the back seat down and we would just lay in the back staring out the big back window.
Fast forward to 1977, I bought my first car. A light blue ‘68 Barracuda, for $300. I did everything to that car, including painting it black. That was my high school ride. Loved that car.
Yesterday I bought a bright blue ‘68 Barracuda Fastback. Everything has come full circle.
It’s got a brand new 366 ci small block Chrysler with aluminum heads (dyno’d at 380 hp), rebuilt automatic with shift kit and stahl speed converter, rebuilt 8.75 rear with 3.55 gears and heavy duty axles and bearings. Weld wheels, 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes, msd ignition, aluminum radiator, serpentine belt, electric fan. Paint, trim and bumpers are mint.

I googled the vin and it was for sale at Vangaurd Motors in Michagan around 2014 with a fresh restoration inside and out, wearing Centerlines.

Then it was at in Ross Customs also in Mi. with Keystone classics on.

All in all a sweet ride.
