A while back someone was looking for old tags. I have a MD plate that's red with white borders from 1973. On our big trucks we used to have to get a "Montgomery County MD Incinerator and Landfill Permit". It cost $1 per year and you got a new steel plate, standard size, that had to be on the font of the truck so it could be read as you entered the landfill. On the left center of the plate are the #'s 6306 and on the right side is printed the words in the quotes above.
