where does it go on the trunk?
It is a rather nondescript simple aluminum piece attached to the body just below the rear edge of the trunk opening, just below the "PLYMOUTH" molding. In your pics it looks like your car still has this piece and yours appears to be in rather nice shape. These are aluminum and don't take any sort of abuse so they are usually beat up or just missing.
Almost any one with a '66 Signet needs one but even so the one on eBay still hasn't sold - this is an good example of a real lesson about our cars. Even though it is rather desirable and has a price just a tad higher than what I would call reasonable it still hasn't sold! Rather revealing and this applies to me too.
