Mark, I hit 67 this year. My best friend (my wife) and I watched that with a tear in our eyes. Oh, to see kids be kids again!

Thanks for sharing. I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong generation.
It sure does bring back some good times when life was so much simpler. If we could only go back to those days.
It was a great time and so innocent Yeah there was probably stress back then but nowhere like today. Everybody is in a rush and the stress levels out of control. We all need to take a step back

I was born in 57, and lived thru those times. But it's strange looking back at old pictures.....even young people looked old back then, lol.
My Mom playing me in hockey , and my Dad and I . Good memories Mark .
When you were a kid you saw someone that was 60 and thought they were old. I'm crowding 72 and funnily enough they don't look as old now

I had one of those hockey games as did many of us. Spent a lot of time on that. Nice pictures FOG. Looks like a Chrysler New Yorker across the road. Love to have that car now.

I remember taking a marble off the head playing table hockey, Good Times!!
Just to mention a few lol , Rocky and Bullwinkle , The Little Rascals , Soupy Sale , Heckle & Jeckle and Little Lulu .
As kids we generally didn't see or hear about a lot of rotten stuff going on around us . TV had standards and the news kept the horrific stuff relatively quiet or sanitized or didn't report it at all .
Stuff that happened at home stayed at home .
So lucky us didn't have to be disturbed by all that bad stuff happening behind the scenes . Unless it was happening in our house and then we were scared mentally or physically or both .
Luckily we got to use our imagination in play . We could have more fun with the box than what came in it .
Oh and Saturday morning cartoons , so funny .
Daylight savings time = more outside play time after school , love it and still do .
As we grew up Cruising the blvd. , Drive in burger spots , Drive in movies with your gal you know the rest .
The mid 50's 60's were great times in our lives . Then we had to grow up , dang it !
But I still refuse to do that . So there !

A big difference between then and now, at least here in the U.S. of A., is that companies don't offer pensions. People have to do all kinds of different things to make ends meet. Added stress.

Mr. Magoo, Sky King, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, 3 stooges, Laurel and Hardy. So many great shows.
If they don't offer a pension then you start your own when you're young and working. Putting a certain amount out of every paycheque away each week is a really good way of doing it. You don't miss it but over the years it still adds up to a nice nest egg. As P.T. Barnham said "A fool and his money are soon departed". Be smart with your money, if something is on sale buy 2 of them. Don't buy something when you need it buy it when its on sale. Price match with other stores (they do that here in Canada), negotiate when you can (that's always fun). Every little bit counts but don't deprive yourself either. You need a reward for all your hard work too.
