Anyone remember Wild Thing? Forgot who sang it.
you are correct sir! This is my genre of music to boot. Someone put Gary Numan on the list and he's definitely not a one hit wonder Check out his album Replicas. Go to a Numan/Tubeaway Army show, he normally won't play "Cars" which is fine by most. Asia and Red Rider may have gotten limited airplay but Asia's eponymous album and RR's As far as Siam are both excellent albums.Love this song.
"Come On Eileen" may have been the only "hit" from Dexy's- I think it was used in a John Hughes movie or something -but that whole album (Too-Rye-Ay) is fantastic.
Likewise, Men At Work ("Who Can It Be Now?"/"Down Under") got thought of as something of a novelty band, but that whole album is quite good.
Here's another example: The Hooters ("All You Zombies"/"And We Danced"). Nervous Night was the album, again- really good stuff. The leader of that band wrote and produced several hits for Cyndi Lauper.
Bay city rollers a perfect example of a good band that could have gone somewhere but was ruined by being a kiddy band
