Fired up the Dart today. Its amazing how much hearing that sound will cheer you up!

Best pass last year was also the last pass. First time out with the Quickfuel carb, car went

1.56 60'
4.7 330'
7.37 1/8
91.29 mph
9.71 1000
11.707 1/4
113.34 mph

5.9 Magnum out of the junkyard with some Iron Ram heads, Air Gap, 750 carb, 1-5/8 headers through mufflers, 3.91, custom cam, 904

Hoping to hit 11.50s this year. Might take it to the dyno before I hit the track.

Can't wait, can't wait!

Steve

wow impressive i hope to have my scamp in the 11's one day

Hey:

Its 224/230 @ .050, .536/.544 lift.

Aggressive lobes so I get some lifter noise, but otherwise pretty mild. Been shifting the car at 5700 - 6000 depending on air.

That's a really nice looking car. Love the color. Is that B5, it looks a little lighter maybe. Anyway, what track do you go to? I'm in N IL.

Now thats one sweet 71 dart....I like it.:love6:

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm hoping there's some ET left in it.

Its not B5, definitely lighter. B3 maybe?

I go to US 41 over in morocco usually. Sometimes Terre Haute, rarely Coles County.

My favorite thing about the car is how streetable it is. Too much gear for a highway car, but otherwise very liveable. No gigantic tires, full factory interior with bench seat, still has wipers, etc.

What rear tire/wheel and offset? Springs in stock location?? Rear is stock width???

WAY COOL Dart! Runs really good!!

Do I see Caltracs under it ?

Thats the next piece for my dart --- maybe I can finally hook .

Great job Steve, looks like the 750 PF helped, did your MPH pick up from before with the 670? Gotta love those Magnum engines!

Hey:

Rearend is stock width. Wheels are Weld Pro Star 15*8 with 5.5 backspace and (I believe) a 3/8 spacer. Tires are MT ET Street 27*10.50 15, actual width 8.9.

It does have Caltracs.

I picked up 1 mph over my previous best, about 2mph over my previous average. I have a hard time believing I'm such a wizard I'd get the carb optimal on the first try, so hopefully there's a little more in it~!

It'll be a little bit yet before I get to the track this year, but I'm eager to get there before it gets too hot.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm hoping there's some ET left in it.

Its not B5, definitely lighter. B3 maybe?

It's probably B2 light blue poly or Glacial blue. I call it ice blue. Great color!

I love the look of the car.

Very Nice...you must be closing the valves pretty Hard to get that power out of that cam.
Very nice..!! those are my kinda lobes :thumbrig:

What RPM are you going through the traps at? Need more gear? Just asking. Beautiful ride.

Hey Illduster! Hope your project is coming along.

I am not real sure what my trap rpm is. Approx 6000, give or take a couple hundred.

I did a stupid thing, I went from 4.11 to 3.91 and put a bigger carb on at the same time. Car could definitely use the 4.11 if not a 4.30 with the new carb. I had a 670 street avenger before, car is monstrous through the midrange to the top with the QF 750 by comparison. Definitely turns higher too.
