If you read the Mopar Performance Engine Book about it, it goes into detail and even mentions that total (mechanical plus initial) AND vacuum advance may well be over 60* at part throttle cruise and if you see those numbers, it is normal.
This is something I have spent countless hours doing to cars through the years. Running around with a vacuum gauge taped to the windshield with people lookin at me like I was a dumbass.
