First of all I want to thank all of you regulars on here for the worthy advice over the years. I never post but read all of the sections on a regular basis and have picked up some great tips. So now I do have a question and asking for some possible advice, if needed. what do you think of my current build. 1994 360 magnum block. 408 stroker kit from Scat with 9.9:1 compression, forged pistons, cast crank, all balanced. Howards Rattler hydraulic roller, 227-235 duration, 525-530 lift. Speedmaster aluminum heads, gone over by my engine guy. Beehive springs installed. M1 single plane intake (found a brand new one cheap and love the look). going in front of a 727 with 2500-3000 stall and 3.55 rear end. So what have you? What kind of power am I looking at and what can I do better? Everything is bought and ready for assembly. Thanks for the time and your expertise.

I recommend more stall speed, but other than that, go for it.

any idea of what car you are building this engine for?
overall weight is a factor

should run well. The intake and cam are mismatched, but the cubes will hide that.

Head flow numbers are super important at this juncture.
Can’t even guess a power number.

If SpeedMasters react similar to Edelbrocks I'd say around 450 hp.

what no link to a dyno article? no tables with dyno numbers from tests? no discussion of tq or hp per ci? no equations?

are you feeling alright?

i'm reporting this, clearly your account has been hacked.

If I knew of a article that matched the OP's build I would post it for him.

Here just for you.

Lets say 1.2 tq per cid @ 5500 rpms

408 x 1.2 x .9 x 5500 / 5252 = 461 hp. So 461 hp @ 5500 / 490 tq @ 4000 rpm

Is the universe back in order again ?
are you feeling alright?
I'm feeling fine thanks :)

Man sounds like you will have a blast with a great base to build from. My only complaint and it is likely going to go unnoticed since it is not a dedicated track car would be cam vs intake happy place, they are a bit mismatched but holy smokes I say build it and rock on!

Sounds like a plan. I'm hoping to do a 74 360 about the same someday. Just with Eddy heads and Eddy air gap intake. Good luck with your build.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. Going to start putting everything together in the next month or so and the car will hopefully be done in the Spring. I am shooting for next Summer and it is a purely street car built so my wife can drive it.

Stop it. Just stop it. I'mma start callin you AJ Junior.

I built a similar engine with Eddy heads and intake, 10.5:1 compression. I estimated 460 hp. It drove like a hot big block.

But It was a request :)

But it's really not a formula instead of guessing hp your just guessing torque and rpm instead and figuring out hp, either way came up with similar guess.

ANY formula is a guess unless you know 100% that every single variable entered is correct. RARELY does that happen over the internet.

True Garbage in = garbage out as they say, It just helps me to see and organize things in mathematical framework.

RRR,
273 will need to add another 4 paragraphs to be an AJ junior........
I couldn't if I wanted to, terrible speller, put words in wrong spots, forget words, forget to put n't etc.. on ends of words, slow typer, got to read it 10 times over and still have to make corrections days later after posting. Too much effort already :)
