The Dart is back together with the exception of exhaust. Cleaned it up for an appraisal so I could get some insurance and I’m pleased with the way it turned out. 417 motor, new 200-4R transmission with FTI 4500 stall lockup converter, new Dana 60 rear with Art Morrison ladder bars and diagonal link, new wheels, shifter, seats, and carpet. Looking forward to seeing how well the transmission will perform!

Couple short vids getting it started and first test drive

Damn, that thing is slick! Nice job man. It oughtta' run like a scalded dog!

Thanks! It’s been 10.40’s but I doubt I’ll see that again. Will be adding some weight and put in a less performance oriented lockup converter for added rpm drop on the highway. But it should still run good and be a whole different car to drive!

Absolutely gorgeous! Do I see rack and pinion hiding under that beautiful engine bay?

Your car has always been one of my favorites on here.

Well built with zero corners cut.

Great job on her!

That wheel/tire combo is bad a$$. Would you mind sharing the specs on those?

Beautiful looking Dart! What brand of rollcage did you put in it? I need one for my 68 Dart and I want the best fitting one I can possible get without having to spend 4k on a custom one.

They are Billet Specialties Street Lites. 15x10 rear 3.5” backspacing, 17x4 front

I had it custom made for the car. The side bars swing out and are removeable, as well as the cross bar which is removeable for easy access to the rear seat. It was all less than $1K to have done.

Man it looks great. I need to find another local shop because the place I took it to wanted just under 4k to do a custom cage :/

Wow that’s absurd!!! Base price here is around $600 and it goes up from there depending on type of steel, swingout bars, etc.

That looks awesome! I can't wait to hear how the transmission works out. This is probably a stupid question, but why 17 in wheels in front?

Yeah I had always heard 1 to 200 per "point" rollcage so when he said the 8 point was 3845....

Mostly for looks. You’ll see a lot of cars that have had new wheels put on in the last few years that are running 17” front runners instead of 15” anymore. Also compare a 15” street lite to a 17” street lite. Night and day difference in looks.

Definitely looks badass! You don't see too many a-bodies that color, which makes it cooler IMO.
