What are the differences with the LA coded engines. I have a 69 dart with a p code engine.

It's a original 340 car. Hopefully your lucky to have the original engine.

273, 318, 340 and 360 are all LA engines
Not as familiar with the poly engines but they have a 318 displacement engine as well. As far as your question goes other than cubic displacement and small things like cast iron or aluminum water pump, timing mark in different locations they are virtually all the same.
