Just replaced the federal p/s pump on my 72 dart(v8) Are you supposed to jack up front end,turn steering wheel once left then right(lock to lock)? if yes,should engine be running?If this is NOT necessary let me know. Thanks

I dont see a need to jack it up. I run it lock to lock a few times to work the air out of the system. Do it with engine running.

That's what I always do. I jack it up as well. Easier on the steering components. As a matter of fact, I never turn the steering wheel without the car moving either.
