P.S.T bought out

I'm surprised no 'Something something gubmint tryna shut down our hobby and force us into EVs' ?

Oh this thread is hardly a day old yet silly me

I was curious and checked torsion bar prices over at Sway-a-Way, $495!!! I paid $319 for a set from them 3 years ago. Hmm maybe I should start buying up performance parts like jewelry since inflation is likely gonna keep going... "Babe these aren't parts for my car they're an investment!" :D:BangHead:

looking at his profile, he has been here since 2011 and only posted 287 times.. seriously i don't know him.. does he have a web site?
Yep, he's been here for only 13 years! I've only been "here" for 4, 7 on FBBO and know him well. He has no website, just contact Craig if you need something that fits properly!

welp, looks like we're going back to the dark ages of everybody just running whatever t-bars they have. can't see anybody justifying that kinda dough on something most consider an afterthought.

sucks, PST was decent to do biz with and had good stuff.

sway-a-way was the same 300-ish as PST, kantor & POL in august/septemeber

i know that you're only slightly joking, but you'd think that performance parts would hold their value, however anytime i've gone to sell them nobody wants to get off the dime. that stuff isn't a "necessity" and doesn't hit the radar on most.

same paradox as: why would i pay $350 for a rebuilt holley when i could whip out my CC and splash $700 for a brand new one.

To abodyjoe and all others,

I guess this will be my 288th post ——
I have a lot more posts on the “ B “ , “ C “ , and Forward Look sites…..
But you can P.M. me, as per forum rules , and I will send you my cards and flyers….
I have been at Chryslers @ Carlisle all 34 years , and went to the MOPAR Nationals for 21 straight years —- and sadly watched it fall apart to be just a little local show….
Craig…..

i just spent close to 500 for a pair of bars brom bergman earlier this year.. it all depends what someone wants out of their car. if they are ok with capyy handling and old too small of torsion bars then they will run whatever they have.. the guys that want thir car the best it can be will spend the money. no different then its been forever.

all jokes aside, i agree. people will throw down the coin for the things that are important to them.

Firm Feel has been at $500 for a pair of torsion bars for a bit now, plus shipping. I bought a set of 1.18’s for my Challenger a couple months ago.

The price on the Flaming River 16:1 manual steering box is $842 now, it was 5 hundred something when I bought mine.

Kanter has been selling parts for old cars since our (now) old cars were new. Hopefully, since they're not in this for the short run, they'll be able to supply us for as long as we're driving them.

Yep, interesting that their checkout now comes up automatically at $432 CDN! Maybe false news here...

.. "Babe these aren't bullets, they're an investment!" :D

And this is exactly how I’ve amassed an impressive 10,000 rds of 5.56 green tip

Kanters 273 pistons are real nice. They have coated skirts and have slightly bigger domes than the stock 273 Commando pistons did. A friend used them several years ago and was real happy with them I would buy them before I would buy Egge pistons

I bought a front end rebuild kit, steel tie rod sleeves, and lower control arm stiffening plates from PST/Kanter a couple months ago.

Not installed yet. I talked to the same guy this time that I did a year or so ago (before PST got bought out). That dude isn’t easy to deal with.

BUT they honored the 10% discount. Parts look pretty good so far.

They did send me only one tie rod sleeve. When I called Kanter direct, a different guy answered. Super helpful. Maybe only two minutes on the phone, and the the second sleeve was in the mail. Easy peasy.

I’ll be there interested in how this goes. I’d rather work with folks like Peter Bergman, or FirmFeel, but have to stay within the monthly allowance.

I bent a set of UCAs getting bushings out, so will be ordering upper control arms from HDK. That’ll be overkill, but fun.

Hmm maybe I should do that with .308, I don't go through much on the rare occasion I make it out to the range anyway.
I am actually counting on a lot of that ammo as an investment. The majority of it was at under $0.50. Currently it is about .55 cents to .57 cents.

Back to Kanter, IDK if it was pointed out but it should be known that the $520 price is the Deluxe Kit. It comes with adjuster, boots, and clips. The torsion bar set alone is $299.

That's the kit I bought for a B Body 63 Sport Fury. Guy adjusted the price to PST's $395 USD, Kanter price he said was $595

I had a sour experience with PST some 35 years ago. I bought a front end kit for my 73 Dart Swinger. It was all white box junk that actually said made in China. The lower ball joints were completely shot before 5,000 miles. I've never bought anything from them again!

Kanter has been around awhile in NJ. I think they always sold chassis parts for all old (pre muscle) cars. Looks like BAC is one of the few supporting stock style systems, manufacturing in house and building cars…

Kanter 1.03" torsion bars are $272.78 with FREE shipping to my address. I put them in my cart at $299 and they sent me a 15% off code CARCARE15 to sweeten the deal. I haven't pulled the trigger but wanted to see what all the hubbub was about. Seems like a good deal to me? What am I missing?
