Paint code

Hey everyone, hope someone can help me out with a non-a body question. I have a 61 Plymouth fury in the shop that I cannot find the factory color. The car in no way shows it has ever been painted. The ppg guy says this paint code does not exist. Any help would be appreciated! The code on the tag is 523. Color is tan. I will post a pic of the tag and color of car. We are repainting the roof, fenders, and hood.

you might google TCP Global Paint store. go to their "color Library"

and a paint chip chart will come up with codes.

Did a quick search on that site, didn't come up with anything from my phone. Will try a better search tonight on the comuter

I have an R-M paint book from 1961 it shows 2 colors one for the bottom and one for the top fawn beige for Plymouth(bottom color) and bronze irid (top color)

I logged on to ppg website I think I have the code. brand code 21905 manufacturer code DT6107, YY1 hope this helps

Do you have a tint bank? Relying on a old code for a formula is probably a waste of time as you will end up tinting anyways.. I'd just mix my own if you have access to a tint bank.

if you have a ppg rep you might have a chance at using the prophet on it also.
