Painted amber bulbs

Does anybody have a source for the 1157 painted amber bulbs? I'd like to see how they look in my Swinger's front signal housings with the clear lenses. All I can find are the clear amber tinted bulbs. When I bought it, it had one of each but the painted one didn't work.

I've looked around on line and haven't seen these anymore.

The painted ones (1157a) didn't work very well, or for very long as you can see. The paint used to peel. The preferred bulb was the 1157NA (Natural Amber) and lasted as long as any clear bulb would have.

might want to look for a 1157 amber bulb cover, like a bulb condom.

some time ago & moparts person was offering $$ for these bulbs-- the bulb cover looks interesting. Lawrence
