In preparation for installing the new hemi, I decided to paint the engine bay. I knew if I installed the engine first, I'd probably never paint the bay.
Anyway, this is my first "big boy" paint job and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Color is "Vivid Blue Pearl" came on Chrysler 200's.

You going to paint the rest of the car? I like the color. 65

Looks good! Prepping and painting that is a pain in the you know what. I bit the bullet and did the same as you since I knew I'd never pull the engine back out to do it later.

When I saw the gray primer photo I thought blue that looks like whale gray, then I scrolled more. Love the color, I see it as electric blue, one of my all time favorites

Love the color and detail. Great for reference as I do my engine compartment makeover. Thank you

You did a very nice job on it! Engine compartments are hard to paint without running them to hell and back like the factory did...lol. I've gotten to where I just remove the K frame with the car as high on jack stands as I can get it. Then I'll get inside from the bottom, wrap the air hose around my ankle leaving a little slack for me to hold towards the gun. I just stand in the middle and turn around to paint. Getting in and out between coats, without touching wet paint isn't easy until you get used to it, but it works better for me instead of reaching over. The pics in your link show how nice it turned out. Keep up the good work!
