I'm putting together a stock pattern interior in non-stock colors for my current project. I want the package tray board to be dark grey or charcoal. It's a color Mopar never used in that location. Given what the material is and that it sits in the sun underneath the back window, what kind of paint can I use to change the color? Please confine answers to something that I can get in a rattle can...

Thanks for your help

if I was doing this I would try Rustoleum for plastic and use several light coats

I would primer coat the package tray with several light coats, you would want the paint to stick to the primer not soak into the material. Also I would use the same company for primer and paint as to have no problems with paint formulas be used.....

Also, use a flat or satin paint. If not , the glare from a gloss paint will render rear visibility to zero when the sun hits it. Even better would be to wrap in a material that co-ordinates with your interior color choice.
