So I'm working on an 8 3/4" axle swap, and it's time to connect the parking brakes. Only... there's no clear place to put the parking brake cable.

In fact, not only is there no apparent place to put the parking brake cable, there's no parking brake lever at all, and these look more like front brakes than rear brakes! Plus, the right side brake has the adjuster lever at the front of the car instead of the rear. None of this is right, is it?

You are missing the lever and spreader bar.
There are good pictures in the Factory Service Manual.

That's what I thought; I have a FSM so I'm good there. Are these something I can just add, or are there parts in there I'll need to replace to get these in? What about the one that seems to be from the wrong side; will I need any new parts for it?

You are missing Park brake levers and park brake struts.. It is much easier to build the brakes and then install the backing plates and axles

Update: I was able to get the right-side lever from O'Reilly's, the remaining hardware from Layson's, and managed to reverse the shoes I have instead of needing to buy new ones as I'd feared.

So it looks like the final tally for the person who originally built this axle was:

One side with the shoes on the right way but the springs and adjustment mechanism backwards.

One side with the springs and adjustment mechanism installed correctly but the shoes backwards.

Both sides missing the parking brake hardware.
