Parts for A/C

I have a 91 Ram and I'm gonna go thru the A/C on it. It needs a compressor for sure which is easy to source but the truck has dealer installed A/C on it and the components are not the same as what would be on a "assembly line" A/C truck. Basically the only component shared is the compressor. The dryer, all the lines, etc are different. I have a factory service manual but it shows nothing in it and I've called dealerships with my VIN to see if they can help but of course not. The dryer looks like one from a mid to late 70's car and the condenser kinda favors one too. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated because it's getting hot in NC already!

No idea. Is the AC integrated with the heater or is it like the old "hang on/ knee knocker" units?

Its integrated into the non-A/C under dash housing. My heater core is a non-A/C design. It may be a deal where I just try to find mopar parts from various years that will work without crazy amounts of modification.

As long as your system did not experience the "Black Death" of the compressor ( that's where the compressor goes bad, blows up and pumps it debris throughout the system); you should be able to source your parts from Nostalgic A/C in Florida.

What year vehicle is it and what kind of a compressor is it? Pictures would be helpful.

The compressor is common (see pic) but I'll get some other pics once I'm off work. 1991 ram d150 3.9 v6

I have a 87 Ramcharger and am replacing everything under the hood. I bought all of it through rock auto as it is the only practical way to get shipped to Canada.

If you look at everything available at parts stores they all have what I call a "block style" connection where all of mine are threaded.

if you have a napa near you, go there and find the a/c picture book. have any/all numbers on old parts. you could also go the an implement dealer(john deere, cas etc) and look at some of the tractor stuff.

Look for the Four Seasons catalog online. It's likely all your parts were sourced from them. Their catalog has pictures and dimensions, so it should be a simple process.

Once you have the Four Seasons part #s, a call to Napa or a look at Rockauto or Amazon should gets your parts on their way.
