Passenger HP Manifold fitting?

Ya, they totally give a guy some play for sure. I think I remember reading (from Schumachers site) that you should install the mounts a bit loose so you can adjust, etc. Get everything where you want, then torque em down.
 
For another reference, this is my clearance for the 383 4speed in mine. It's tight but no issues.

I am in the process of pulling the heads. I blew a head gasket.

Yes, the stock PS box wont work with the BB. I have the Borgeson box, which is much smaller.
 
Stock BB steering box will fit even with PS. See post # 22. The only mod was to trim the outer column.

You can also elongate the trans mount holes to give you an extra 1/2" of front to back movement.
 
I dont see the lower bearing on the column. Do you have one?
