Any one watch this? What happened to Marty?Paul Page sounds like he is annoucing a baseball game.(nothing bad about baseball) I heard him call John Force---Jim Force on the saturday runs. I didnt really enjoy the race as much with this Paul guy. Any one have any info what happened to Marty?

I'm glad to see that somebody else is also baffled by ESPNs ability to screw up Drag Racing coverage! Paul Page should stick with CART and IRL announcing. He knows nothing of the sport of drag racing. It really irked me to hear him stumble his way through the broadcast. He must be somebody's brother in law at ESPN. My wife was wondering why I was griping throughout the whole "partial" broadcast. And whats with the "highlights"? Were they afraid that it would interupt girls basketbal or something if it went a couple minutes beyond it's scheduled time slot? I'd give anything to see ESPN lose their contract with NHRA and have TNN take back the broadcast. I like Mike Dunn and Marty; but I'm sick of NHRA always having to take a back seat to those "ball head" producers!. ...........Whew! That felt good!
Can I get an AMEN?
:wav:

Wow! Thats about the most complete emitoc...ahhhh.....emtomi.......ahhhh....smiley menu I have ever seen!

Get use to it, NHRA and ESPN2 have an agreement until 2011. We need to send emails to NHRA and ESPN2, they can't fix what they don't know is broke. Unless you are the NFL and you know your referee system is a joke but you defend it anyway.

As bad as the anouncing is on ESPN2 at least drag racing does have referees! Thank God! or what ever else you believe in.

Ya, it always seems like they over run every thing but the drags. This Paul guy doesn't even get into the race. Yes I did e-mail the NHRA and Espn, I'm waiting for the reply. Hopefully, Paul will brush up on his drag racing before the next race.

The deal is out of the 23 televised events Marty Reid will do 11 and Paul Page will do 12. Mike Dunn will still do all 23 as a the lead analyst. So with Paul 1 down 11 to go.

I really cant stand how they chop up the NHRA coverage so much so they can fit it between NCAA womens basketball and golf. Maybe they should cut out one of their replays of sports center or any of the other crap thats on there and make room for the NHRA. If they cant do that, they should just give it up to some other network that will put some effort into it. I cant imagine that the NHRA likes the fact that the whole day of racing was cut down to highlights that lasted an hour and werent even broadcast in proper order. IMO, ESPN sucks anyhow, if it werent for NHRA being on there, I would never have it on. I am not looking forward to what they do with Monday Night Football this year.
