I'm looking for a good, in working condition, PCM for my dad's 1991 W250. I'm hearing it has to be specific for a manual transmissionand 4wd vehicle? I can't confirm if that's true or not and we are researching that now. I'll post part numbers if there's markings on PA. He's having a charging issue and the mechanic is saying it's the PCM?

Thanks, Carl

I am not sure on that vehicle, but I have bypassed the ecm, and installed a "normal" voltage regulator to cure a no charging problem, on other Mopars .
PS: did not bypass the complete ecm, just the VR circuit.

That's actually what the mechanic was going to do. We just thought it was a temporary fix. Thanks for the information and response.

Do you have a 91.5? If intercooled that's what you have. One wire alternator with built-in regulator. Also probably controls the a/c too. Go to the cummins forum go to the 1st Gen non power train section.
Could be 91.5. We've had issues just to get the correct alternator. But I think you are correct.
I'll look into that as well. Thanks

I'm pretty sure I have one. Just need to confirm the year, all else the same.
Ok he's saying it's a 91'. Here are numbers he's giving me.

He claims the numbers are under the sticker by the plug??

The numbers are
0036-01 2550 530-08934

Not sure if this helps, especially if it's a 91.5 model year?
