I had my carb rebuilt and didn't reinstall it for several months. In the meantime, my memory faded. The passenger valve cover has a breather. The driver valve cover used to have a hose going somewhere. Attached is a couple of pics. I can't recall which port to connect my Vac Advance to on the carb, and would the breather hose from the driver valve cover go to the other?
Thanks

Aftermarket Carb. Sorry you need to determine ported or other. Assuming that was the carb previously, then to the open fitting. Otherwise to the blocked fitting.

The PCV is normally on the right side of the engine up to 69 and connects to the Carb base.

I'm feeling pretty dumb about now. I just got out my mirror and checked the back of the carb. Low and behold, there's the port I'm looking for. Now that explains why I couldn't get the damn thing running either. So, with that part out of the way, which of the two smaller ports on the carb should my vac advance be connected to?

You want the VA hooked to the port on the metering block. That’s timed vacuum. The easier ways to tell if it’s timed or full vacuum is the full vacuum port will always be UNDER the throttle blades and the timed vacuum will be above the throttle blades. And, you can’t just look where the port is. You have to see where it comes out.

The PCV should be hooked to the 3/8 full vacuum port at the back at the carb.

I think he thinks there are two ports on the meeting block. @equium circled in red is your ported vacuum source for the vacuum advance. The screw below it is one of your idle mixture needles.

The pcv you figured out goes to the base plate of the carb, the hose on the breather should go to the air cleaner.

Thanks for the replies. I've been charging the battery all night. hoping to get it running today. I really appreciate the info.

I know this thread is old, but next time PM me.
