My old Penske analyzer’s tach does not read anymore since I pulled the old dual point dizzy out of my 273 and put in a Mopar electronic system. Any ideas, or is this now obsolete?
Some of the old meters that worked on points weren't made to be used on electronic ignitions, I had a nice Kal meter that blew up when I tried it on electronic dist.
I have one of the Chrysler EEPA analyzers. I hooked it up to a D50 with the Mitsubishi motor and the ignition smoked the tachometer board. I'm having a devil of a time finding someone who still works on these.
Much thanks for the replies. It read dwell and the tach worked with the old dual point. Since the upgrade, the tach didn’t work. I’ll reply back in a week or so once the gauge cluster is back in.
I've got several old tach / dwell. I don't know that I've tried all of them, but I've fiddled with a couple or three. They work on Mopar ECU, on GM HEI module, and on the Dodge Dakota, which is not cop, it's still a separate coil/ distributor.
I work on yhose and sell them. Its something simple I am sure. I can almost bet the 9v battery has something wrong, it powers the tach dwell circuit. I have one I want to calibrate I will look at it today for you.
