Perfect Circle or Mahle rings or are they the same?

So I recently purchased a set of pistons that came with a box of Mahle rings. When I checked the part number on the Mahle box, I discovered it was identical to the part number on a box of Perfect Circle rings I already have. Was PC bought out by Mahle? If so, which rings would you use and why? Inquiring minds want to know...

Used to run perfect circle rings back in the 80s and 90s with no problems. Mahle has bought up piston and ring suppliers so likely the same product.

Yup, kinda what I thought but you never know until you ask. Thanks for the response. I think I'll go with the Perfect Circle rings just because I have more faith in older vs newer stuff. Now, off to the machine shop to get this block bored & honed.
