I believe this is the driver . Roland and the guy in the chair was at a Nostalgia Race in ST. Louis . Talked with them. That was a beautiful car.
 
Many years ago I went to the Mopar show in Albion , Pennsylvania which is just outside of Erie. As I walked around the fairgrounds I noticed an older man wearing a railroad cap looking at the cars. He was walking with a younger guy and as I stood there I realized it was Tom Hoover. His son lived in the area and he had brought his father to the show. I introduced myself to Mr. Hoover and asked if he had a moment of so to talk to a small group about the Hemi which he agreed to do. It turned out to be a pretty great day!

Bought this about 20 years ago to race with my cousin, but he got sick shorty after buying it. Ray Barton 440, picked it up in NH. Sat in my yard for a summer then sold it. Only picture I still have. Sounded great never got a chance to take it down the track.

Wyrmryder likely knew these guys... how about it Jim? They had noticeably short but very productive NHRA/UDRA career.

Notice you never see fat guys in these 60's photos?

Krooser, Hales Corners Wis. No ****, I lived on Ryan Drive right on Big Muskego lake till I turned 18 in 1976. Smiling Jim Bayles ( spelled wrong) lived a couple of houses away from me, he always seamed to drive 55' Chevy stock cars and a fellow named Farmer Frank something, can't remember, drove Ford. I spent a lot of time at that track.

Yep...Jim Boehles passed away a couple years ago. Jim had a lathe and cut down driveshafts for me several times. His high boy Chevies were hard to beat.

Frank Smith is still chugging along.

I bought Frank's Mustang late model in 1982... Got in the promoting biz soon after and sold it.

My brother lived on N. Cape Road for 40 years. I turned wrenches at Holz Chevy in the 60's.
 
Damn sorry to here about Jim, I remember his wife always wearing mini skirts at the races. And went to school with his kids, Randy, Laura and their older sister, forgot her name, Damn! and glad to here about Frank. My pops bought a 63' Impala SS from Holz, nice car! and that was the only place my Grandfather would buy from, a new Caprice every couple of years or so. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.
