I just got a 1972 Scamp with factory air. The previous owner bypassed the heater core because it was leaking. I have replaced the heater core but I am not sure which hose goes where? I have a large and small pipe in the heater core. The by pass hoses are going through an actuator/valve on the inner fender. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

You might find the hose fitting in he intake is smaller than the fitting in the water pump. If so, that's a clue where the smaller hose goes.
As a general rule of thumb, heater hoses don't cross. Closest to center of engine goes closest the center of firewall. FYI, That valve isn't "by pass". It's open for heat and closes to interrupt hot water flow when the a/c is on. When its closed the backed up pressure just stands there. No additional bypass route was provided ( not that it really matters ).

Yep, small hose to intake and the larger one to the water pump.
