there was always something about Fords growing up, it was almost like you had to buy one with a "fast" engine in it, there was no parts interchangeability like with a Chevy or Mopar. Fords were always pricey and you had to knw what parts interchanged. An example is the Cleveland, you couldnt just throw a 4 barrel intake on it it had different heads for 2 and 4 barrel engines. I mean what's up with that? Plenty of their 70s "302s" were low HP dogs, wasn't till the 5.0 in the 80s that they were really anything,and even with the Fox body 5.0s you have to know what you are doing as far as mods and the eec 4 computer system.Touche, although arguably the star of Bullitt was the Mustang, not the Charger. Great, realistic appearing chase scene, except it's convinced a lot of people that a 390 Mustang was faster than a Charger R/T, when in reality even though the Bullitt Mustang's 390 was modified, it still couldn't hang with the Charger's stock 440.
